About - Formerly known as Trivandrum, Trivandrum City Guide is one of the most popular tourist destinations in South India. Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple - This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is one of the 108 Divyadeshams and the city has got its name because of this temple only. Anantha is the name of the serpent on whom Lord Vishnu reclines and therefore the city got this name- Thiru- Anantha- Puram, meaning "Abode of God Anantha". Lighthouse Beach - Thiruvanathapuram is also known for its spectacular beaches which are three in number and among them Lighthouse beach is the most popular one.
